Tour of Italian flavours

The gastronomic tour amid the flavours and excellent products of various Italian regions touched by the famous Giro d'Italia bike tour. For this summer the choosen motto of the gourmet initiative Peaks of Gastronomy is: Tour of Italian flavours, in honor of the queen stage of the world famous bicycle tour Giro d'Italia which reaches Corvara on 21st May.

You will discover a tour amid the flavours and excellent products of different Italian regions. Ten chefs, representing the Italian regions crossed by the 99th edition of the Giro d'Italia will each whip up a dish for one participating hut. Following in the footsteps of the Giro d'Italia, climbing up the entire peninsula from South to North and from East to West, local gastronomic delicacies will be revealed, in true Italian culinary tradition.

The dishes, paired with a South Tyrol wine, will be served throughout the summer season 2016 in the ten participating huts.

You can reach the refuges on foot, by bicycle or comfortably with the lifts.

Piz Arlara mountain hut where you can try the plate created to Italy's youngest Michelin-starred chef, Matteo Metullio (La Siriola restaurant at Hotel Ciasa Salares in San Cassiano). Matteo Metullio has created the Putizza from Trieste
